This sculpture is made with a combination of foundational techniques I learned in two separate workshops.  I then altered and pushed the structure into new realms to create a visual commentary.  
 
After creating a palette of my own colors, I painted and cut the paper and then used a three layer, interlacing of Hexagonal Weave technique I learned in a 4 day workshop with instructor Jackie Abrams at the National Basketry Organization conference.  I also incorporated twining over an object which was taught by isntructor Ann Coddington in a 5 day workshop at the Textile Center entitled Sculptural Fibers: Open and Closed Forms.
